East–West differences in clinical manifestations of COVID‐19 patients: A systematic literature review and meta‐analysis

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is currently not under control. We aimed to assess whether there are differences in clinical manifestations between COVID-19 patients from the East (East and South-East Asian countries including China, South Korea, Thailand) West (North American, European, Middle countries, United States, Italy, France, Iran). For this meta-analysis, we searched for eligible studies about three databases: PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library. Studies were divided into two cohorts analysis: West. Stata 13.1 software was used meta-analysis. Of 1527 initially identified by literature search, 169 full-text articles retrieved screened eligibility. Fifty-seven of these, describing 19,353 patients, deemed inclusion. 45 with 8416 while 12 10,937 results indicated that incidences cough, headache, dizziness, nasal congestion, digestive symptoms lower than those laboratory data showed no significant levels lymphocytes, leukocytes, C-reactive protein, platelet counts groups. In addition, our also incidence cardiac kidney injury, as well increased creatinine, alanine transaminase, aspartate significantly higher East. Our meta-analysis appear suffer more severe liver, kidney, heart damage due SARS-CoV-2.
